So, the festivals now finally started knocking onto our doors and here I am so much excited about each one of them. 😀
And I seriously wish, to be able to share each and every special moment from these amazing days in here. 🙂
Well, today it is; one of those important festivals for ladies which are generally celebrated in various parts of Rajasthan, Punjab and Gujarat with great verve and enthusiasm – “Teej”.
This festival is believed to spot the beginning of monsoon season while on the other side according to religious beliefs; it was on this day when Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati reunited with each other after hundreds of years.
Womenfolk this day applies mehandi (Henna) on their hands and by observing fast, prays for the long life and well-being of their husband which basically provides them a much needed break from their daily household drudgery. Interesting, No? 😉
Here are some of the snapshots featuring this festival, most of which are clicked by me 😀
Well, this special dish (Kheer- Poode) is made at our place on the occasion of this festival 😀 I know it looks yummy and believe me it tastes more yummier; I’ll make sure to provide you people with recipe of this dish, in case you are away from home 🙂
Swings are also an important part of this festival <3
Hope you loved it 🙂
Happy Teej 🙂
